This Shabbat: Be United for Israel and the IDF Soldiers

Israel is once again at war and JEWISH PEOPLE WORLDWIDE MUST UNITE IN EVERY WAY, INCLUDING SPIRITUALLY

Just as the Jews have kept Shabbat throughout the generations, the Shabbat has also kept us. It is, as our Sages teach, “A source of Blessing.”

WHAT: This coming Shabbat, Parshat Vayeztei shall be a “Shabbat United” a Shabbat during which all Jewish families and Individuals across the world will cease all the 39 M’lachot (Forbidden 39 Shabbat activities) and SPEND THE 25 HOURS TOGETHER EATING, SINGING AND PRAYING FOR THE WELFARE OF OUR PROTECTORS AND OUR NATION.

WHEN: Sunset, Friday November 23rd till Saturday evening November 24th (about 40 minutes after Sunset, depending on location). If unsure about the times, this site will tell you when Shabbat begins and ends, anywhere in the world. http://www.myzmanim.com/search.aspx

WHERE: In your home and/or Synagogue. FOR ALL NON-JEWISH SUPPORTERS OF ISRAEL, PLEASE UNITE WITH US BY ALSO SPENDING THE DAY PRAYING FOR/THINKING ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF ISRAEL AND THE IDF.

Here’s one thing to make sure your thoughts are focused.
It’s the Official PRAYER FOR THE SOLDIERS OF THE IDF

May the One who blessed our ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, and Leah, bless the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces, who stand watch over our land and the cities of our God, from the Lebanese border to the desert of Egypt and from the great sea to the verge of the wilderness, on land, in the air, and at sea. May Adonai cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One save and spare our soldiers from all forms of woe and distress, of affliction and illness, and invest their every action with blessing and success. May the Holy One lead our enemies under our soldiers’ sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: “For it is the Lord your God, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.”

And together we say: Amen.
